Welcome To My Blog!

Stay tuned for future articles about horses, horse behavior, and Equine Assisted Learning. More and more the academic research is demonstrating that horses have the ability to help people in many ways. It has been known for quite a while now that riding has physically therapeutic benefits. What is more recent in the research is that time spent with horses, both on the ground and riding, has the potential to be mentally and emotionally therapeutic as well. That is what I am all about.

I have loved horses since I was a very young girl. I have always found that horses brought a smile to my face, exercise to my body, and joy to my soul! After many years of teaching in schools and raising my three children, I have come back to horses as a career and a joy! I hope to share my knowledge and my joy with you!

I currently have an article published in Society & Animals titled "Equine Assisted Therapy and Learning: A Survey of Methodology in Australia" (Nelson, Signal, Wilson; 2015, https://philpapers.org/rec/NELEAT-4). This is based on research that I conducted for my Master's in Education Research degree in Sydney, Australia. The study was a survey of the many methodologies that people use to conduct Equine Therapy & Learning sessions. The knowledge I gained from this study has helped me tremendously in tailoring EAL sessions to individuals and groups.

I would love to hear from you. If you have feedback or questions about Equine Assisted Learning or Therapy OR Natural Horsemanship questions, please leave them here.
